A Glaswegian by birth, Harry Holland made Cardiff his home from 1973. His received his training at St.Martin’s School of Art from 1965-1969. He developed his own very individual technique of figurative painting, instantly recognisable, exact, photographic yet enigmatic with an intriguing distance. His paintings have become extremely sought after and hang in collections allover the world from Cardiff, National Museum of Wales, The Tate, New York, Metropolitan Museum to name but a few.
His lecture to CASW, however, is not about his own work with which we are all so familiar, but which paintings hang on his own walls and his reasons for choosing them.
