Notes: Ferdinand Cirel was a self taught painter. Although he had work shown in the Royal Academy, the Royal West of England Academy, and with other august groups, perhaps the absence of academic training explains why any reference to him will always mention that he worked as a bus driver in Cardiff. Thankfully, this did not distract the purchaser of this accomplished landscape study.
