Notes: Painter, illustrator and stained-glass designer Glenys Cour was born in Fishguard, grew up in the Rhymney valley, and studied at Cardiff College of Art with Ceri Richards during World War 2. She moved to Swansea in 1947 where she met and married the sculptor Ronald Cour, and together they began a lively salon of artists, poets and musicians. In 2017, in her eighth decade of exhibiting, she was given a major retrospective at the Glynn Vivian Art Gallery, Swansea.
