Notes: Gwynn-Jones studied at The Slade School of Fine Art, London, was Professor of Painting at the Royal College of Art during the 1920s, and was a member of the New English Art Club from 1925 to 1940. He became a Royal Academician in 1965 and was appointed CBE in 1980.
