Notes: Byng Lucas was a painter, sculptor and printmaker who studied and exhibited in solo exhibitions in Paris during the 1920s, and in London during the 1930s.In January 1939 The Leicester Galleries, London (Ernest Brown & Phillips Ltd) held a solo exhibition of her work and the preface of the exhibition catalogue was written by J B Manson. In 1941, together with her older sister Frances Byng-Stamper, she opened Millers Gallery and Press in High Street, Lewes, Sussex, showing works by prominent French artists such as Matisse, and Pissarro, and by Bloomsbury Group members Duncan Grant and Vanessa Bell.
