Surreal assemblage. A white gessoed, wooden panel containing a very fine, annotated, architectural drawing, in pencil, of two classical arches with selected areas of bricks and tiles painted in oil. Beneath the arches are very detailed pencil drawings of clouds (one with tone the other with stipple), a greyhound dog, two budgerigars, a dying? thorny, rose? bush, a tripod-like structure and a hexagonal plinth? with inwardly sloping sides. Each drawing is accompanied by the fine lines of a grid. Below the panel is a row of seven wedge-shaped pieces of dark wood each attached by a brass ring to the backboard.
