Content: This collection, which comprises the National Eisteddfod Purchase Prize for 2005, has two components. The first - the 'Stereotype Collection', is a series of Welsh ladies in traditional dress in domestic surroundings - in the kitchen, teatime, playing the harp, looking at a dresser, looking at bardic robes, singing in a choir. The second collection is a selection of souvenir inspired objects based on findings in the souvenir shops of Eryri and is rich in iconography.

Notes: Lowri Davies was brought up in Aberystwyth, graduated from the Cardiff Art School in 2001, and was awarded the National Eisteddfod Young Artist Scholarship. Her ceramic compositions are inspired by a wide-ranging collection left by her grandmother, and generally deal with self-identity and Welshness. She uses hand-build techniques and slip casting, with decorations based on her personal pictures.
