Notes: Rachel Windham started as a representational painter but became increasingly interested in the relationship between forms and colours, and the negative spaces between them. She aimed to achieve harmonies of colour that appear to vibrate and invest movement - almost like a pulsing effect - resonating through the work. She had an 80th birthday solo exhibition in Oriel 31 (now Oriel Davies), Newtown, in 1996.
