Content: This painting was inspired by Masaccio's famous fresco of the expulsion of Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden in theBrancacci Chapel of Santa Maria del Carmine, Florence, Italy. Williams discusses this work near the beginning of the British Library oral history Sounds recording here. She recollects the purchaser as the National Museum of Wales CASW's buyer that year, David Alston, was Keeper of Art there at the time.
