Content: As with her other CASW acquisitions (820, 866 and 891), this work illustrates fundamental concerns of the artists work: war/conflict, human vulnerability/suffering, power and its abuse.It relates to Armistice Day coverage in 2007, and reports that soldiers horrifically injured in Iraq and Afghan conflicts were refused permission to attend the main Remembrance Day Parade, and angry accusations that the Government was ashamed to have them seen in public.A photograph of this work appears on p.50 of Mary Schoesers publication on Rozanne Hawksley (Ruthin Art Centre/Lund Humphries, 2009)

Notes: Rozanne Hawksley established a studio in Newport Pembrokeshire in 1987. Before moving to Wales, her career included being part-time tutor at Goldsmith College (Textiles) and visiting tutor at both Royal College of Art and Slade School of Fine Art, London.
