Notes: Peter Prendergast is acknowledged internationally as one of the great painters of Welsh landscape, characterised by bold expressionism. At the time he was approached, by a happy coincidence, he had just started work on an etching in copper and saw this as a natural development of his present work. His particularly spiky graphic technique translates wonderfully and very naturally into the medium of etching.
