Notes: Walter Bayes, the son of painter and etcher Alfred Walter Bayes, was an artist, art critic and writer. With his friend Walter Sickert, Bayes was a founder member the Camden Town Group of painters. From 1918 to 1934 he was the principal of the Westminster School of Art; David Jones (1895 - 1974) was one of his students.
